I have 10 Nest Protect Smoke alarms, all of which expired last month.
I have replaced all of them.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to remove them from my Google Home app. I've moved them all to a new room called "Delete", to at least consolidate the mess. But there seems to be no delete device button in the configuration or three dots menu. What am I doing wrong?

Okay. Figured it out.
It's impossible to delete the device in the Google Home app, go figure.
You have to go to the old Nest app, click on the Protect icon, then click the gear and delete them one by one.
Good riddance, Protect.

Thanks for the update. I have one expiring in September. Google has really dropped the ball on this one. The supposed replacement is not available in Canada. I would like to leave a bad review, but I cannot see how.

“Many users report the same issue removing Nest devices from the Home app, and some even look up unrelated tech forums like just to find workaround discussions when Google support falls short.”

If you cannot delete your Nest Smoke Alarms from the Google Home app, it’s usually due to account or device linking issues. First, make sure you’re signed in with the same Google account that originally set up the device. Then, open the Google Home app, select the Nest Smoke Alarm, and check if the “Remove device” option appears under settings. If it doesn’t, try unlinking your Nest account from Google Home and relinking it after clearing the app’s cache of 51 game login. You can also remove the device by resetting the Nest Protect manually using the reset button.
