Changing smoke detectors carbon monoxide

How long should I keep a product I just came back from talking to a fire department and they said most smoke detectors carbon monoxide detectors should be replaced every 10 years does that still go with this type of product

All carbon monoxide (CO) alarms expire because their sensors have a limited lifespan. To meet certification standards, the Nest Protect (2nd gen) requires replacement 10 years after the manufacture date.
