Nest protect Gen2 set up- not connecting

I purchased First alerts to replace my 10 year old flawless Nest SD/CM devices. The First Alerts continually give false alerts and are a crap product- DO NOT buy! Even tho the NEST protects are not manufactured anymore I was able to find in the box new product(battery). I installed and set up the first device flawlessly with no issues as I’ve done with many other Nest products over the years. The rest of the devices will not set up. They aren’t recognized even tho the test is fine and blue light flashes. I’ve done ALL of the recommended troubleshooting with no sucess on any of the other Protects I need to install. Why did one install flawlessly and none of the others are recognized? These were all manufactured in April 2022. Nest used to have a fantastic customer service line— until Google.
Who can help?? Is there any Google direct support?? Thank you.

Hi @Joaniek,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble setting up your Nest Protect (2nd gen) because one of them connects to the app, but the others do not. I understand how frustrating this could be. I'm happy to assist.

To gather the necessary information, please answer the following questions:

  • Are you using the Google Home or Nest app for the setup process?
  • When the other Nest Protects (2nd gen) fail to connect, do you receive a specific error code or message in the app?
  • Can you summarize all the troubleshooting steps you performed before reaching out to us?
  • Are all of the Nest Protect (2nd gen) devices physically located in the same room when you attempt to set them up?
  • Are all of the Nest Protects (2nd gen) that won't connect still visible under your devices in the Nest app?

I'll be waiting for your reply.

Best regards,

Derick.
