Nest Protect Problems

I have purchased two new Nest Protects as my previous ones had expired. The new ones will not connect to my WiFi. I constantly get a PO23 error if I try to scan them and if I try to put in via the entry key then I just get a permanent spinning circle and nothing happens. What can I do?

Hi @ChrisG56,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Nest Community. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble connecting your Nest Protects to WiFi and seeing the P023 error code. It sounds like the app gets stuck when you try to set them up. I'm here to help.

Please follow the steps below to try to resolve the problem:

  • Close and restart the Nest app.
  • Turn Bluetooth Off and On.
  • Disconnect other Bluetooth devices from your phone.
  • Restart Phone.
  • Restart Protect: Remove the batteries from the Nest Protect and reinsert them, or unplug the wired one and plug it back in.
  • Bring your phone and the Nest Protect very close to your main WiFi router.
  • Try to use a different mobile phone or tablet.
  • Use a second phone to create a WiFi hotspot, and try connecting the Nest Protect to that temporary network instead of your home WiFi.
  • Create a new Home in the Nest app and try to add the device to that new area.

If you have any questions or need more help, just let me know.

Regards,

Gabriela
