Communication between devices in different Homes

One of the great features of Nest Protect 2 is when an alarm occurs it communicates with the Nest Thermostat to tell it to shut down.  I have two Nest Thermostats on Home 1 on my Nest app.  I recently added 6 Nest Protect 2s, but in order to get them connected had to use a new home - Home 2.  I'm wondering now if my Home 2 Nest Protects will actually communicate with my Home 1 Nest Thermostats or do I somehow have to merge them all on to one Home location.  They all use the same WiFi.  Thanks for any help.

Jake, no I still don't know if my Nest Protects in Home #2 will communicate with my thermostats in Home #1.  Both are on the same app, on the same WIFI network in the same residence, but I had to use a new Home location (Home #2) in order to get the Nest Protects connected.  They wouldn't connect to WIFI if using Home #1.  So if they sense smoke or CO will they communicate to the Nest thermostats to shut off since they are listed in different Home locations on the app?

I see a number of other people who seem to have the same problem connecting and I tell them to use a different home location in the app, but also tell them I'm not sure if the communication features with other Nest products will still work.
