I purchased my first nest product today (wired protect - gen2) so no experience with these devices. I installed the nest app, logged in via google and proceeded to setup the device. All seemed to go well with the device connected to my wifi network. In the app, I can see the device (currently showing yellow as it isn't hard wired connected yet) but the app is showing offline. When I hit the offline button in the app, it says that nest can't connect to any devices in my home (the protect is the only nest device I have).
Is there something further I need to do to get the app online? Does this mean I won't get remote alarms if the device activates? My confusion is that I can see the device in the app.
Any help appreciated. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the app but no change.
