woken up by an emergency smoke alarm this morning — ran around looking for what’s wrong and it stopped in about 30 seconds.
no notification from app happened and it still doesn’t show up in the history.
I called support and they just sent me instructions to “factory reset” it as the solution. Apparently this will also clear its history? I’m not sure the support agent fully understood the seriousness of this — we are relying this for protection and now we question if it’s actually working correctly.

This can often happen when a Spiderweb gets into the smoke sensor. I recommend you clean the detectors exterior and interior with compressed air. Clean any dusk near the mounting point as well; if the issue persists, contact Nest support about defective detector.
