In Google Home what are 'Charging start/stop' starters for the Smoke detectors?

Hi,

In Google Home I see 2 possibilities for the Nest Protect:

Charging starts or stops (Opladen begint of stopt: starten/stoppen)

And Attached or not attached (Aangesloten of niet aangesloten)

Can I use it for something?
The Nest Protect are the battery ones (not wired) so I am confused.

I would expect things like 'Alarm goes on/off', 'Motion detected', 'Light on/off', 'Started Night Watch',...

Thank you in advance,

Kind regards,

Bart

Hi Bart4,

Thanks for reaching out to us. The options you pointed out such as “Charging starts or stops” and “Attached or not attached” appear to be related to the power system and physical connection of the Nest Protect device, but not with regard to the particular functionality or events in itself.

For battery powered Nest Protect devices, the option “Charging starts or stops” may not be valid due to the absence of direct connectivity to a power source where the battery would be charged. In the same vein, the “Attached or not attached ” option could be related to either a device being securely attached or mounted to a wall or ceiling. Regarding the actual details of the events or activities you listed, including "Alarm goes on/off," "Motion detected," "Light on/off," and "Started Night Watch", these may not be provided as separate options in the Google Home app for the Nest Protect. The functions inside the Google Home app may also differ based on the device and whether the device is attached to the app.

To look into and control the available features and settings for your Nest Protect devices, I suggest you open the Google Home app, select the particular Nest Protect device you’d like to calibrate, and follow all the settings and options the app brings out. This will give you a more accurate overview of what actions and events can be controlled and monitored through the Google Home app for your particular Nest Protect devices.

Let us know if that helps.

Best,

Zoe
