Looking for Temperature and Smoke detect sensors to monitor home while away

I do not see that the nest protect can report back my home temperature so I can monitor it while away - be nice if there was such a product - right now I have to train a camera onto a thermometer so I can see if the heat is on at home.  Any ideas would be appreciated - Thanks

I dont use Google Home because I can't trust Google to not screw it up somehow. The Kiddie smoke alarms have the Google Home logo on them, so they should work. I haven't tried yet. (Hmm, Google gets another brand smoke detector to integrate but can't seem to care to do it to the Protects? )

The way the smart home world is now, no matter what, i'm using more than one app, so I just have a folder of about 20 apps on my phone. It's just easier for me and i'm not stuck redoing things all the time when one app updates and breaks integrations.

Searching quickly, Govee may have integration in Google Home for at least lighting, but some people had issues.

I bought the Govee temp sensor after my fridge had an issue. It was cheap and its easy enough to just pop open that app to check, but it also notifies me if temp goes above or below a range i set.

Govee makes a wifi thermometer and humidity sensor. Or replace thermostat with a non nest brand. I use honeywell. Replace nest protect with any other smoke drtector. Kiddie makes one. Kiddie will be replacing my nest protects soon. It seems april 2024 may be the end of life date for nest protects.

I will need a different app for those solutions or do they integrate with Google home? Thanks

Thanks for this... I am encouraged to implement. I use the Google cameras and doorbell and have been very happy with the video recording, storage and replay. Gives you peace of mind when your away. Just missing the temperature piece and the smoke, CO2 detect piece.
