Lost my nest profile on app and devices will not connect

Hi!! I have 4 nest protects in my house. I came home to two beeping one day and it showed not connected to the app. After spending 45 mins trying to get them to connect, I gave up. Later that same day all my devices disappeared from the app. I tried  doing factory resets on them, verified internet connection worked, and purchased new batteries. I can’t get any of them added to the app. Any ideas as to why they are not connecting/ working? Thank you.

Hi Thisisgina,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, what is the light status of them? What is the make and model of the new batteries you purchased? Have you tried checking your other home structures in your Nest app to see your Nest Protects there?

When re-installing a Nest Protect, it will require you to remove them from the Nest app and reset all of them to the factory default.

To reset:

  1. Press and hold your Protect’s button. It will chime and glow blue. Continue holding the button down.
  2. Release the button when your Nest Protect starts to say its version number.
  3. Your Nest Protect will start a verbal countdown and tell you it’s erasing all your settings.
    • To cancel the factory reset, press Protect’s button again during the countdown.
  4. After a few seconds your Protect will reset to its factory default settings. You can then go through setup with the app and add it to an account again.

Emerson
