Need Nest Protect 2 mounting bracket

After several years, the material of the Nest Protect 2 mounting bracket has become brittle... literally dropping from our ceiling as the material fails. Finding a new bracket seems to be a common issue for customers on the forum, as Customer support claims it's out of warranty and tries to defer to third party retailers who have no supply of the parts 

I'd love if someone could help me find where I can get this mounting bracket so I can hang my device again.

Having the exact same experience with my Nest Protect Gen2. It's hard to believe Google doesn't sell a replacement part. If it can't be remounted then it's garbage.
