After searching and following troubleshooting steps for every single locked thread regarding this specific issue, I have 5 Nest Protects that will not respond to updating WiFi settings.
Please do not suggest a rote method solution, as I've already invested nearly 7 hours total in following and implementing resolve, all to no avail.
I am at my wit's end with this matter, and frankly the direction of Nest products in general. Google has successfully taken a brand/product category and made it painstakingly frustrating to operate, counterintuitive, and an extremely poor consumer investment.
Would have been nice to know Google's plans prior to spending upwards of $4000 on their "smart" ecosystem.

A few questions: what troubleshooting steps have you taken? Were there any error codes on the Nest app? What’s the make and model of the WiFi router?
If you haven’t done so already, you can check the steps in this guide if you can’t connect Nest Protect to the app or Wi-Fi.
