Nest Protects & Unifi

Hello all,

We have had 5 nest protects for about 3 years now. Recently 1 of them was showing offline, so wanted to reset it. During that process it refused to reconnect, so assumed it was faulty.

Fast forward to a few days ago, took all 5 down, they're the 240v versions. Deleted the app on my phone, factory reset them all, and deleted the home from Google Home.

Started the app, set up a new home and added the first protect. Worked fine. I have a dedicated 2.4Ghz network with a simple SSID and password.

Second one sees the first one, copies the settings, setting up wifi, testing wifi, then adds to home.

Third one, everything as normal until setting up wifi, where it doesn't, it ask me to press the button, it reconnects to the 3rd unit and looks for wifi which I enter manually. At this point it fails.

I bought 2 new ones recently so thought, I'll try one of them, same issue, fails. Its like if it sees more than 1 other unit to do assisted set up it just fails.

Any ideas??

Hi coupeman,

Thanks for posting here in Community forum, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation.

Can you help me with the exact error message or code you're getting as you try to pair the Nest Protects with the Nest app?

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Zoe
