Nest app has no "+" (add device) icon

I have a Nest thermostat and the latest Nest app on my Iphone. All works as expected. I would like to add a Nest Protect I just purchased. I open the Nest app and see my house. That is, I see a green circle labeled "Home" with weather conditions displayed below.  Below that is  a black circle showing the current thermostat setting. 

The Next Protect install video shows a Plus sign with "Add" below.  I don't have that. 

Also, I don't manually sign in to the app. I merely open the app and see the thermostat setting.

The add product should be under the settings cog, about halfway down.

OK, I see now.  If you have existing Nest devices, you don't add them on the main screen.

That's right, and you can add the new products from the settings page.  Glad it worked !
