New install. P009 (0.80) error.

I purchased 9 (nine) Nest Protects for my house.  I can set the first up without incident.  The second however, gets all the way to the portion of the install where it would be added to my Nest account when it spits out the P009 error.  Searching the forum has led me to remove the first Protect from my Nest account, uninstall the app, factory reset the Protect, reinstall the app.  I have all nine Protects on my table right next to my TP-Link Deco router.  I can then set up the first Protect again with ease.  Connects to my router without incident.  I then wake up the second Protect and while keeping the first one awake, get to the same exact spot in setting up number two when I get the same error code.

I'm banging my head against the wall.  I'm more than likely going to return all nine Protects since I cannot even set up a second one.

Just tried again using my wife's iPhone.  Same error at same step.  I'm now out of ideas to try.

I'm getting the same error. I also have one setup, and others will not "add to account".

Okay, I've had a moment of success.  Protect needs IPv6, so I've turned that on in my router's app.  I have now successfully set up two Protects before getting the P009 on the third.  The setup screen was different when setting up the second, it showed the first one I had already set up, and the second one that I was currently setting up.  Then when I started setting up the third, the screen was back to showing a single protect.

Another moment of success before getting the error again.  Nest Protect only works on 2.4 Ghz band WiFi, so I created a new SSID that only operates on the lower band.  This time I was able to connect a third Protect before getting the same error.  Got a new screen too.  When connecting the second device, it shows the name of the first device under it's picture.  When connecting the third it shows it as "assisting device," when attempting to connect the fourth, the screen is as if I'm setting up the first device fresh, with no other devices showing.

SOLVED!!

Found the answer in another thread!  The newest firmware is bad.  Find out the firmware versions of your units 3.4.0.6 is good and 3.5.0.3 is bad.  If you have multiple units, set up the older ones before setting up the newer ones.  Best of luck!
