Trying to add nest protect to profile. Gets all the way to the final step then fails. From other threads it appears this is a bug in the firmware update 3.5.03. Is google actively working to correct this issue? Is there a way to revert pack to previous firmware versions?

After messing around with the devices, im pretty sure this error is caused by the nest door bell. For those having the issue do you have a nest hello doorbell? Can someone can try to remove only the nest door bell from the account and then try to add the nest protect. See if the error goes away when pairing?

It's not firmware. The Nest Protect I was trying to add was on an older release, it was not able to add to my existing "home", but had no trouble adding to a new home.
Forcing an update to the latest still saw only the same results, no luck on existing home, no problem in a new "home".
As to upgrading firmware, you just need to add Protect solo to a new home. Once you do that, if you hold the button for network/version check for 5 seconds, it runs an update.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We appreciate you sharing here your thoughts and ideas. While setting up a nest Protect all devices should be on one Wi-Fi network with 2.4GHz bandwidth. If you have an existing Nest Protect and you want to add another, they should have a blue light pulsing indicating that they are ready to be connected. Also, could you confirm if you're following the same steps below on how to reset your Nest Protect:
I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.
