I have a nest protect produced 2/5/2020

Today I got sensor failing issue.

Serial Number is 06AA01AC182000RX

Vacuum cleaning and cleaning as mentioned in manual does not help. Restart does not help. Change of batteries does not help.

This should be a warranty case??

Please help asap!!

Hi Piratka,

Photoelectric alarms are very sensitive to dust. This is because they use a light source that will reflect/interrupt light and cause an alarm state when a particle of combustion enters the chamber. The smoke alarm can't really tell the difference between a particle of combustion and dust, so when dust enters the chambers and doesn't leave, the device will always be in the alarm state. That is why using compressed air to force dust out of the chamber (1st gen only) is so effective.

If you followed the directions on this page to no avail, you will need to get into contact with Nest support to see if they can help you.

Here's hoping!

Thanks,
