Smoke alarms discontinued

Never mind. Found the info I needed. Still annoying to know that smoke alarms will only be good for 10 years or less

The 10-year maximum lifespan is pretty standard across all brands of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, including all of our (non-Google Nest) devices.

One issue with Nest Protects is that Google Nest and other vendors seem to be selling Nest Protects that are already several years old. when they are sold.

Google announced that the Nest Protect is discontinued and will be replaced by a compatible device from First Alert that will interface with the Original Nest Protects and be controlled by Google Home. You need to use the First Alert App to install and configure it.
