I am attempting to add a family member to the Nest app after installing a 2nd generation Nest Protect. The Nest app directs me to add the family member through the Google home app. There are two issues that follow: 1- that family member is already added to the Google Home and 2- I get an error message after the auto-redirect to the Home app from the Nest app that says "Invitation is no longer available".

Depending on whether you login with a Nest account or Google account, follow these steps:

To clarify, I am using a Google account. I used this account to log in to the Nest app. After setting up the Protect successfully, I attempted to add a home member in the nest app. When doing this I am redirected to the Google Home App where I receive the message "this invitation no longer available" . The instructions you provided walk through the process of adding someone to a google home, but that is not the issue. As I stated previously, the person I want to add to the Nest app is already a member of the Google Home that is associated with the Nest Home (they do not show up in the Nest Home app automatically despite it seemingly being implied that they should). The issue is that I cannot add anyone to the Nest home because every time I click the "Add a home member" button in the Nest App, I get the message pop-up that states" Now that Nest and Google have come together, home members can only be added in the Google Home app. If you don't see all of your home members, check the Google Home app." and I click "Open Home app" and am re-directed to the Google Home app and given the message "This invitation no longer available".

If I understand correctly, you've already added them to the home in the Google Home app and they show as a home member in the Google Home app? Despite this they're not able to view and access your devices in their Nest app?
Is the account you invited a Google account? If not, do they have a Google account associated with the email address you invited?
Do you have more than one home structure in either app or just one? You're confident it's the same home in each app?
