Unable to add Protect to my home

I got a nest Doorbell first - loved it. Then a thermostat - love it. So…I bought a protect but I cannot connect. The doorbell was Nest so I have a ‘legacy’ nest account. I have tried everything to connect the protect but after filling in all the fields multiple times the error ‘oops, something went wrong’ appears. This is at the end of the process when trying to connect to the Nest network.

Macone, I'm not sure if this will help you, but I had to start a new Home location in order to get my Nest Protects to connect.  Same WIFI network, but created a new Home on the app.  They are now connected.  My question that I've never seen answered is whether the Nest Protects will communicate with my Nest thermostats that are in a different Home location (same house, but different named Home location in app).

I'm having the same problem, I've one protect connected but can't connect a second, I'm getting P023 error but there's nothing on the help pages that detail what this means
