My 4-year-old son is deaf and I have been struggling to find a smoke detector that is reliable, interconnected, and has visual signaling. The previous visual signaling smoke detectors we installed failed prematurely and had so many design failures I wrote a US Consumer Product Safety Commission report about them (Report Number: 20220904-C6F61-2147354028).
I would love to install 8 Nest Protects in our house but they don’t have a high candela strobe for visual signaling.
Can Google produce an ADA compliant Nest Protect with visual signaling?
Note that others have asked for this same feature, in order to comply with their local fire codes: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Protect/Does-Nest-have-plans-to-add-a-Strobe-component-t...
Thanks

Hi @twdunbar
There isn't currently a Nest Protect with ADA approved strobe. I don't know if their future plans include one but since it is a requirement code in some situations I hope they do.
