3rd Gen Lock feature

Hi folks...

We installed a 3rd Gen Learning thermostat in our short-term rental condo, and I'm looking at the "Lock" features.

If I understand this correctly (using the iOS Home app):

  • select the Settings icon
  • select Thermostat
  • select Lock
  • enter a 4-digit PIN
  • select Range
  • set the Min and Max temperature range

So far, that makes sense.

However...

I would like to set a range of (for example):

  • 50 - 68 for Heat
  • 70 - 80 for Cool

It appears that I have to "unlock" and then go through all those steps if I need to change from Heat to Cool or vice versa?

As my condo is at the beach where we sometimes get big temperature swings (need Heat one week, AC the next, then back to Heat), is there any way to save one range for Heat and another for Cool?

Thanks, Don

The feature and options are explained here depending on which mode you have selected. Refer specifically to the "how it works" section for each mode.

Thanks for your response... yes, I have read the Help docs.

I guess you are saying the answer to my question: "is there any way to save one range for Heat and another for Cool" is "No"?

I must admit that's not something I've tried! I guess an easy test would be to lock in heat mode or cool mode, set the range, unlock it, lock in the other mode, set the range, unlock it, then go to re-lock in the first mode again and see if it recalls the previous range setting.
