We got the 3rd generation thermostat to replace this one and we can’t figure out the wiring setup. Please help? Should be compatible per the checker. Thanks!

I cannot see the label under the Orange Wire. Looks like you have a 2-Stage Heat Pump system with Auxiliary Heat.
Nest Learning Thermostat Wiring:
RC - Red Wire (24VAC Power)
Y1 - Yellow Wire (Compressor Stage 1 Relay)
Y2 - Blue Wire (Compressor Stage 2 Relay)
C - Brown Wire (Power 24VAC)
G - Green Wire (Fan Relay)
W2 - White Wire (auxiliary Heat Relay)
O/B - Orange Wire (Heat Pump Changeover Valve)
Most heat pump systems in America are what are known as O models. These models by default are heating units. If you want to get to cooling, you must energize the OB wire. The alternate models are called B models these models by default or air conditioners and you have to energize the OB wire to get heat. By default the nest, learning thermostat, configurations software assumes that you have an O model. Once the installation is complete, you’ll get a chance to test your heating and your cooling. After you test your heating or your cooling, please let me know if it worked properly. If not, I will have to give you the steps to change the OB setting.

Thank you so much for your reply. We seem to have it all hooked up and tested both heating and cooling which both worked. Thanks again!
