AC and furnace run at the same time

Installed my new Nest thermostat last week.  Didn't really use it until today and couldn't figure out why it was blowing lukewarm air to heat.  Turns out both the furnace and AC were running simultaneously.  I have a forced air gas furnace (no heat pump).  I have 6 wires that were used in my old thermostat - yellow to Y, white to W1, red to R, green to G, blue to C and orange to W2.  Attached is a picture of my Nest connections.  From a tutorial video, the OB slot on the Nest is for a heat pump.  I tried just disconnecting the orange wire and still have the same issue (both furnace and AC come on at the same time.)  Any thoughts?  Thanks!

Just found this - "Press the buttons and insert each wire into its corresponding slot. The buttons will remain pressed.

  1. Note: If you have a wire in the *OB slot (could be used as W2, Y2, O, B etc), when you set up Nest Thermostat, you must declare that wire according to its function (example: W2)."

Any idea how to do that?!?   Maybe that will solve my problem, if I declare it W2??
