App for thermostat does not allow for any changes to nest

When I open Nest I have one "Home" icon on the screen. If you press home another Away Icon appears but I never get anything else.  On the Home Icons an ad product icon appears as well.  It's like no thermostat is tied to the account but when I checked on the thermostat it indicated that the nest is already tied to an account.  Any ideas how to fix?

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the delay. It looks like your Nest Thermostat is previously connected to your account, but removed from it. A few questions: what type of Nest Thermostat do you have? Do you see other messages or codes on your thermostat? 


Let's give these steps a whirl:


  1. Uninstall and reinstall the app.
  2. Do an Account Connection reset on your thermostat.
    1. Go to Settings.
    2. Turn the ring to look for Reset.
    3. Choose Account Connection.
  3. Reconnect your thermostat to your Network.
    1. Settings > Network
  4. Ready your Nest Thermostat Entry Key.
    1. Settings > Nest App > Entry Key
  5. Go to your Nest App on your phone.
  6. Choose add product and continue with the prompt to add your thermostat back to your account.
