Bad sensor? (Temperature sensor offline and temp is off 30 degrees)

My nest temperature sensor went offline. I replaced the battery, removed the sensor from the app, and added it back. When I try to reconnect the sensor, a message keeps appearing saying “The app had trouble connecting to the Nest service. Try again”. I retried several times with no success.  When I checked via my PC, the sensor showed as connected but it was at 32 degrees F while the thermostat right next to it show 68 F.

Is my sensor bad?

Hi jmor90m

Thanks for reaching out and we're sorry for the delay.

I know you've already replaced the battery on your sensor, I'd like to check if you can remove it again, leave it unplugged for a couple of minutes. Put the sensor near the thermostat and put the batteries back in.

Let us know how it goes by replying to this thread.

Best regards,

Ryan
