Blinking Orange Light

Hi,

looked up the other threads on flashing orange light but they don’t seem to match my issue.

Thermostat ran out of power this morning, no display so removed and charged via USB. Plugged back into the wall mount and works but orange light flashes intermittently.

Power from settings shows battery 3.74v Vusb 0.02. VIN 11.54, lin 200mA (c)

As far as that seems to read then power is being provided to the thermostat so why is it not charging? Any ideas?

@AJB1 ,

the battery itself is being charged. When you see the LIN at 200 mA you’re at maximum charging rate. Your batteries is at 3.74 V and it needs to be up around 3.9 V. Since you have a common wire, that is why you’re able to charge at 200 mA  and the orange blinking light tells you that the thermostat is charging.

That is great info, thank you. However the thermostat when on the wall mount is not charging, it was dead again this morning so it must have used the charge from when I plugged it in direct with a usbc charger cable.
So not sure now, if the mounted Thermostat has power to it but is not charging could that be a battery issue….and if so why can it charge, and hold charge, if I charge off the mount? Any ideas?
