C Wire Adapter - 2 wires in 'R' terminal screw

vepathur

Mine is a 'Heating only' system. I am trying to install the " Nest Thermostat C Wire Adapter".

I see 2 red wires connected to the 'R' terminal screw in my furnace. Should I connect (move) both the wires to wire connector?

Please see the picture attached.

Hi Archie and Patrick - Thank you very much for your inputs. I found it difficult to trace through thre wires upto the HVAC; so I switch to use a 24 Volt C wire adapter to power up my Google nest. That suites my needs.

@vepathur

Is there a humidifier installed?

Can you post a picture of the original thermostat wiring?

@vepathur

You have something strange going on as the wires on the thermostat don't match the wires at the furnace control board.

You need to trace the cable coming from the thermostat and see where it is connect and changing the wires
