I have the inexpensive unit - gen1 I think 1.4 (two of them) tied to my gas boiler. They blew through batteries until I ran a c-wire to them from an existing 24v transformer. They both worked fine and indicated the c-wire was connected. 24v was present. 3 days later one thermostat battery was getting low and the thermostat now indicated “no c-wire” ! I tested power and there was 24 v at thermostat. In addition, I swapped units and the “no c-wire” unit continued to display no c-wire even in the location where the other unit worked fine. Sounds like the unit is bad?
thanks

Hi Divimon2000,
Thanks for posting.
I suggest restarting the thermostat having this issue. Check this guide to know more. After restarting the thermostat, let me know if you're still having the same message.
Best,

Thanks Mel, I did restart and add fresh batteries. The unit now shows c-wire connected. Just wish I could understand how that could happen. (Born too curious, I guess). I’m watching battery voltage like a hawk now.

Hey there,
I am glad to hear everything is working properly. There is a chance maybe the wire was not fully inserted into the device, and that could be the reason it was not showing. I would recommend double-checking that to ensure. Please let me know if you have any questions or trouble from here, as I would be happy to review.
Best regards,
Jake
