Is there a way to calibrate the temp on a nest thermostat 1st gen? Mine is consistently reading 3 degrees higher than multiple thermometers held up next to it, so it is constantly running the fan and sending our energy bills soaring. I bought one of those sensors hoping that would fix the issue but they are only compatible with 3rd Gen and the E model.

I do not know the answer to your question -- I hope someone will answer it directly. But have you tried setting your Nest's schedule so that it's always aiming at a temperature 3 degrees higher than you really want? That is, if you want the good thermometers to read 75, can you set the Nest to 78 and get a satisfactory result?
