Is there away to completely turn off Away on the Nest thermostats so that it always stays in Home mode at the temperature I have set it to?

To make the Nest function as an ordinary not-smart programmable thermostat, turn off "presence sensing" or Home/Away Assist (depending on your model and what interface you're using to control it). Then the Nest will stop looking for you to try to decide whether you're home or not.

It still a programmable stat and smart. Your just turning off a feature.

Thanks for following up. My problem is half fixed I would say. I turned off Home/Away Assist, and so at least no the temperature setting does not go to Eco when I am "Away", but the system still does go to Away when no one is home. It seems like there should be a way to keep it on "Home" all the time. And that whey when I go on vacation, I could manually shift it to Away and it would go to Eco.

Hi REHAMMER,
Thanks for the response. Could you also check if Presence Sensing is enabled? Here's how:
You can also turn off just an individual phone from being used for presence sensing.
Thanks,
Edward

Hey there,
Checking back in — how's it going? Have you had the chance to try the suggested steps above?

Thanks. I did go to the Home App and to Settings, but there is no option for Presence Sensing Unfortunately.

Hi REHAMMER,
Thanks for the reply.
Presence Sensing can help your home devices adjust to your needs when you are home or away.
If you turn off “Allow this home to use phone locations,” but leave your individual phone location on, Home & Away routines will stop working, but features that use only your phone location such as Only Ring When Home will continue to work.
This can be enabled from the phone settings, go to the app and permission.
Let me know how it goes by replying to this thread.
Regards,
Ryan
