Like so many other postings here, I find that somehow I am enrolled in the nest renew program. I do not recall signing up for it and would not if I realized it. But I am enrolled, I go to the renew home site, sign in with my nest account, and it has an option to unenroll. But, it is grayed out and says only the primary account can do that. If I enrolled then this would be the account it would have been done under. I am the primary. I can not find anyway to find support outside of posting to the community. I want to be unenrolled from nest renew. I want my nest renew account deleted. I want all of my data removed from it. I do not want CPS or any electrical company or Google to have access or control over my thermostat. Who or how can I get this taken away?

Hi @daemontroll
If you are having trouble cancelling in all the ways the instructions here list--- Manage your Nest Renew settings - Google Nest Help then go ahead and try filling out this link for direct support.

Yes all of those links take me to the same place. They show I am enrolled and to unenroll I must be the primary user. The link to unenroll is grayed out and can not be selected. I tried clicking that link and it takes me to the same page as the manage your nest renew settings.

I'm having this same exact issue. There is no one else that would be the primary user. I have no idea how I wouldn't be the primary user, either. Also, I never signed up for this.

I emailed the company and they replied with the article that says unenroll but does not reference if that is unavailable. This is really a terrible feature and we should have the option to turn it off completely and have our data removed.

This link should take you to a Contact Us form that will give options for support.

Thank you for the link.
I've been number 10 in line for 2 hours now, to chat with someone. Is that normal?

Thank you for the link. I accidentally stumbled onto the nuclear option. I deleted the google home, it orphaned the Nest thermostats, and I had to rebuild the google home, re-add the thermostats, and set everything back up again. Thankfully I had only two thermostats so not too bad. But this whole thing is horrendous. There should not be any control feature that I as the owner don't have access to turn off or end. Just a terrible implementation.

Turns out Google assigned the primary user as the other individual on the Home. The person that has never set up or bought any of the devices. Using their account, I was able to unenroll.
Also, I used the "Call" option in the Contact Us link and that worked. The "Chat" option had me sit at 10 in line for over 2 hours.

Glad you got that fixed. I wonder now if they did the same and assigned the other user on my google home account the primary? It would be odd, my user created the google home, they were invited, they never do anything in google home or with the account.

This was the same for me. I had to use my wife's account and was able to unenroll. She has never done anything in the setup, she was just a user. Go figure.
