Can you exclude a temp sensor from the "Safety Temperatures" function?

Same issue as others have posted. Want to monitor temps in my garage to make sure it doesnt freeze but the sensor keeps triggering my safety setting.

Seems like an obvious use case. Anyway to make it work or do I need to buy a sensor that is not connected to the nest?

Hey there,

I wanted to follow up and see if I could be of any help. I found an article with more details on the Nest Temperature Sensor. Please let me know if you have any questions from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Best regards,
Jake

Thanks for the RTFM suggestion. Unless I completely missed the section that discusses my issue (in which case I'll go sit in the corner) this documentation is 100% useless in addressing my question.

Hello folks,

I'm sorry for the late reply. I know it has been a while, but I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here.

@89echo, adding a Nest Temperature Sensor to your garage would help to read the temperature in the area. It would send data to your thermostat and trigger the Safety Temperature to activate when it senses a degree below your temperature set. Please note that the temperature sensor is only compatible with the Nest Learning Thermostat and the Nest Thermostat E. If there’s anything else I can help you with, please let me know.

Thanks for assisting, Jake.

Regards,

Mark

Hello everyone,

@89echo I'm dropping by to ensure that everything is covered here. How's it going with your Nest Camera? Were you able to read the information and check the link that MPL has shared? In case you have an update, you know where to find us.

I appreciate the help, Mark and Jake.

Best,
Emerson

Seems like you didn't even read what I wrote. Obviously Im aware that the temp sensor will trigger the Safety Temperature feature. Thats why I asked if it could be turned off.
