Hey! If the QR code isn’t working, try adding the sensor manually — most apps have an option like Add device manually or Enter code manually near the scan screen. You can usually find the code printed on the device or in the box.

Also, make sure your camera lens is clean and there’s good lighting when scanning — sometimes it’s just a focus issue. If that doesn’t help, restarting the app or reinstalling it can sometimes fix QR scan bugs.

Glad to hear everything else is working great!

One other reason could be if you are in the EU/UK, as they will not work.

Hello @GenoPapa

Thank you so much for posting in this community. I’m sorry to know that you’re experiencing difficulties trying to add your Nest Temperature Sensor to the app. It’s a pleasure to assist you. I appreciate your collaboration @david642 and @Frustratedddd for sharing information through this forum.

To provide you with accurate troubleshooting steps, please help me by answering the following questions:

  • What model of thermostat do you have? To identify it, refer to this article: How to tell which Nest thermostat you have.
  • Are you using the Google Home or Nest app to pair the Nest Temperature Sensor?
  • During the setup process, did you receive any error code or notification through the app?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting so far? If so, could you describe them?

Please keep me posted so I can provide you with further information.

Regards,

Daniel
