Cannot complete setup in Nest app

When I try to finish setup in the Nest app it keeps freezing up when it gets to enter the location of the thermostat. The app just freezes up and won’t let me pick the location in the house

Hi everyone,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the delay. Could you please try to reinstall your app then once you're in the setup process of choosing the location you want to add your device, wait for 5 minutes on the screen that froze. Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Jenelyn

It's September 2 and I'm having the same problem.  Am trying to just let the app sit on the checked location page as others have suggested.   So far nothing's happening.

I am having this issue on the latest version of the app and iOS (updated today).

I have the same issue, calling their help number = insane hold times, still not able to speak with anyone. I intend to repeatedly purchase these thermostats, placing them next to a magnet, then returning them, it might make them wake up, but probably not...

My Thermostats were freezing at room add in the nest app. I went through the process of signing out, deleting nest, reinstalling and signing back in. When I got back to the room selection I waited. I timed the connection and narrow empty vertical rectangle flashed for 1 second then it transitioned to the screen that says to select done. The time capture for this was 2 minutes 13 seconds from the time I put a check on the room I wanted until I reached the "add another product" or "Done" selections.

Had the same problem, after resetting the Nest & wasting a bunch of time I finally just let it sit for a while & it eventually went through. Google is the absolute worst company on the planet but my wife "is used to the nest app" so I can't replace it with one of the many better products on the market.
