Just wondering if my new home thermostat (Trane system) is compatible to the nest learning thermostat? (photo of my current wiring is included). All Photos - 1 of 1.jpeg

To check if your thermostat is compatible with a Nest Thermostat:

  1. Check the Wires – Remove the thermostat cover and look for R, Rc, Rh, W, W1, W2, Y, Y1, Y2, G, C, O, B labels. If you see thick wires or 120V/240V labels, Nest won’t work.
  2. Use Google’s Compatibility Tool
  3. Common Issues – Missing C-wire, heat pump systems, or proprietary wiring may need extra setup.
  4. Model DifferencesNest Learning Thermostat supports more systems than the Nest Thermostat (2020).
