Connect Nest to Google Home

Got a new iPhone and now the Nest app is not connecting to Google Home so I can’t control the thermostat remotely from the phone. When I go into Settings/Nest app on the thermostat it says “already connected “. I’ve tried the Rest on the thermostat and no luck. How can I fix this?

Hi @li8556082

Login to the Nest app in the same way (either 'Login with Google' or 'Login with Nest' depending on your account type) as you did on your previous phone and your thermostat should be there. If you have multiple homes, check you're looking at the right home using the menu at the top left.

If you've already checked both those things, on the thermostat itself, go to Settings > Reset > Account connection. If you don't see this option, you'll need to select All settings. Then follow the setup steps: Add your Nest thermostat to the Nest app - Google Nest Help

Once reconnected to the Nest app, it should also appear in the Google Home app automatically if you’re using the same account in both apps, using the same home structure, and have assigned the thermostat to a room in the Nest app. If all of those things are taken care of, and you still don't see it in the Google Home app:

  1. Open the Nest app and follow the “Create another home in the Nest app” steps linked below to create a new temporary home structure:
Manage homes and products with the Nest app - Google Nest Help
  2. Open the Google Home app, find and delete the home structure you just created by following the “Delete a home” steps linked below:
Share a home and devices in the Google Home app - Google Nest Help

This forces the two apps to sync and your thermostat should then appear in the Google Home app.
