My home is older and I have learned that my living room and my basement (where the furnace/AC is located) are connected via only 3 wires (cloth wrapped). Due to the nature of the construction, I cannot reasonably pull more wires or new conduit - I've checked. It has been fine to simply operate my furnace using my Next G1, but I have recently added an air conditioning system to the furnace and do not know how I can send the necessary signals over the existing 3 wires.
I would appreciate any solutions that you might be able to offer to accomplish this (I am happy to upgrade my Nest Thermostat if necessary).
