Hi -
I am adding an a/c compressor (Daikin 5 ton) to my central air, forced air furnace system (Rheem gas furnace). Had a Nest learning thermo, 3G, for 5 years has worked fine.
Now I am adding the central air compressor, and want to confirm the Nest will still work fine. Compressor is model DX 13SA 0611 AE.
Can anyone confirm there would be no issues? I have the C wire between the thermostat and air handler.
The new compressor installation is also using a C wire from the air handler control board back to the compressor. The compressor uses just 2 control wires from the air handler control board, which is the C wire and the Y wire.
I intend to wire the thermostat as shown in this Nest resource, on page 9, for Conventional 1 Stage Heating, 1 Stage Cooling - http://support-assets.nest.com/images/pro-faq/Nest-Pro-Installer-Guide.pdf.
Can anyone confirm this should work? Want to be sure I am not going to blow up my new central air compressor.

Shipshape,
Your Daikin is indeed comparable with the Nest Learning Thermostat, 3rd generation. since your old system being taken out was also a straight cooling system, you will not have to make any changes in the configuration of the nest thermostat.
