My nest thermostat dial does not respond to any inputs. I can click on the center and access the main screen but turning the dial does not have any affect. I have removed the thermostat from the base and squeezed it like a hamburger for 15 seconds and reset the unit multiple times. This is not resolved my issue. It was working one day and then the next day it was not working. The thermostat has not been modified in anyway or opened. What can I do to resolve this?

I have the same issue. I noticed online that this is a common issue when the optical sensor goes bad and you can't just get a new sensor. I called Google and they had me go through reset sequence then said its no longer working so I have to buy a new one. Needless to say I'm going with a different brand.

I have not found a resolution for this problem. I can’t seem to get any support on this issue at all.

I'm having this same problem. It turns on but if what I need isn't the first thing I get to I'm out of luck because it won't move to select something else.
