Does the nest room sensor connect to Nest Connect?

Hi, my nest room sensor is connected fine to the thermostat, but sometimes it gives me that the sensor hasn't been working for a day. I have a Nest Connect as well, would it help if i put the Nest Connect somewhere in between the two?

No, it only connects to the thermostat.
