We are getting an E44 error message but when we try to look that code up, it doesn’t exist. We have checked all wires for fraying and nothing is working. Please help!

Which Nest thermostat do you have?

An E44 error falls into the Nest 2nd Gen Learning Thermostat error code range.

I did find a reference that the E44 error means

  •  No power wire detected, R Wire required
  • Your Nest either has wires that aren't fully inserted into the connectors or have tripped an internal fuse. If an internal fuse has tripped your nest may need to be replaced

Check and make sure all of the wires are fully inserted into each terminal, and that the bare copper is straight and shiny.

Thank you so much for responding!  We checked all the wires and ended up ordering a new Nest.  Fingers crossed!
