E73 error no power to Rc wire detected solved

Mikapop

Got the famous E73 fault no power to Rc wire. If you live in a humid climate, make sure the drain for the evaporator pan is not clogged. Mine was and triggered the float switch. Cleaned the drain and reset the switch. E73 fault disappeared! Cold air again!❄️

Hi! Where would the drain pan be located?

Hi Mom2three,

Thanks for posting. In this case let me tell you, the drip pan is connected to one or more drain tubes. These are usually plastic tubes that carry water from your AC unit to a drain or to the outside of your home. They can usually be found on the side of your furnace.

You can check the "Troubleshoot thermostat power issues during hot weather" article for more information.

Please let me know if you have more questions.

Regards,

jenny
