After a power outage, my nest wont stay changed. The C wire is connected but its not recognized. It looks like it only recognizes W1, and nothing elses plugged in?? It says:
Equipment sensed on: W1
Wires inserted: W1-Y1-C-Rc-G
it’s worked fine up until this outage. Ive tried all the troubleshooting tips. What do I do?

Sometimes a power outage can generate enough power spike to take out the air handler power supply. This where you R and C come from.

Im not sure what that means? What do I do?

@LadyLilith6666 , use a volt home meter and put it on AC power, then touch one lead to the R wire and the second lead to the sea wire and verify that you are getting 24 V AC power plus or -4 V

We are getting power. Does that mean the battery is fried?

Do you have a Volt Ohm Meter to check the power on R and C wires?

Asked my roomate and they had said they checked and yes.
i just double checked and Red and Blue (R and C) don't have power. Red and every other color does.
does that mean the battery was never charging? And how would I fix that?

If R to C does not show any voltage, but R to G does show 24VAC, the your Blue wire is not connected to Common side of the HVAC transformer in the Air Handler. You can access the air handler and verify this. Do you or your neighbor feel confident enough to investigate this?

Wish I could link a picture - but you're right. Went into the hvac closet and the blue C wall wire is not connected to the black C hvac wire (its just wrapped around the other wall wires. Why would they do that??).
im having maintenance double check and connect it for me, but that should solve everything.
