Does using the nest thermostat, particularly in heat/cool mode and turning it to eco mode each time I leave for a long time have anything to do with the electric bill increasing?

Hi sjdurant34,
Thanks for the post. Eco Temperatures help you save money as one of the biggest selling points of Nest's Thermostats is that they are designed to help you save money on your utility bill. As the name suggests, Eco Temperatures are one of the biggest reasons these savings happen. You should use Eco Mode on Nest to regulate your home temperature and save yourself money. You can set the high and low temperatures to wherever they’re most comfortable or keep them far apart to save the most money. Visit the article learn about Eco Temperatures and how to change settings to know more.
To find out if the thermostat is responsible for the high electricity bill, on the other hand, check your Nest Thermostat's energy usage history. Alternatively, you can contact your electricity provider and find out how you use your home's appliances and what is the main cause of the high electricity bill.
Keep us posted. We're happy to help.
Best,
Zoe
