Error while setting up nest thermostats-sso-260

Naveedazam

I am setting up Google nest thermostats. Followed the instructions, everything went well, thermostats is setup and connected to WiFi. While finishing up the setup on my iPhone (good home), had an error “Com.Google.sso error -206.” And google home app is frozen. When I restart the app, I can see nest, on clicking it shows the temperature for a second and after that it says the setup wasn’t completed and I would need to remove it from my home. Help please.

I finally worked after doing the below two things while did the factory reset 3rd time :).

I literally stand need to the thermostat and put like within 6 inches distance( booklet days within 12 inches which is weird) but anyways for the sake of it, plus I enter my full address in Google home app so the location is accurate just in case if it has anything to do with it. It passed that annoying sso -206 error and asking about which room do I want to set it up and other setup option, after that I am now able to access it through Google home app.

Same here. Driving me crazy. Must be a authentication issue or something that needs to be done to the Google account on the back end.

I did one factory reset already. Where do you put in your address in the app?

Ok I added my address in my profile, removed two previous nest protects, factory reset the thermostat for a second time, then re added it and it worked. Thanks for keeping me positive to keep trying!

Thanks.  Where did you add your address?

Click the “Settings” icon in the middle of the Google Home app, then click on “Home Information”, then add in your address.
