Gen3 Setup H71 Hours spent on it!

Hi

Trying to install a Gen 3 Nest Thermostat and it just won't connect to the HUB.

It's very frustrating..

Tried all the stuff the forums say.

Reset factory defaults on HUB, moved the device right next to the hub et etc.

Just spends 3 minutes trying then E71.

Tried the ADD a new hub with the ID on the hub and it just won't connect.

Using USB for the power...
Would it help if I wired it up temporarily to pair? via the 12v 2 wires??

@Chiptivo , make sure your hub supports WiFi 2.4gHz.  The nest only works with 2.4gHz.

It connects to the WiFi fine. Just not the HUB next to the boiler.

Great

How can I report this reply for totally useless and a bot account??

@Chiptivo , Not sure what problem you are having. Can you get me the make and model of your HUB so I search it?

I'll try again. I wasn't very clear.

Setting up my Nest Gen 3 Thermostat

With the HEAT LINK  physically connected to the Boiler.

It turns on, connect to internet, says software version is latest. Asks for UK Postcode, the ntried to connect to the HEAT LINK unit wirelessly.

Won't connect.

I've tried, reset of HEAT LINK (Button down, factory reset) It flashed it's blue light.

Tried moving the thermostat right next to it.
Factory reset, but it still can't see the heat link.

I've checked the code and even tried adding the heat link as new with the code.. I've switched off all 2.4g stuff.
Not sure what else to do?

It's a new unit.

Was going to try a wired connection for setup using the two wires and see how that goes?

Any other ideas please?

Thanks for reaching out to us here @Chiptivo . I am sorry to hear you are having difficulties with your device and I would be happy to try and assist.

Just to confirm, this is a new thermostat unit that is being set up for the first time and will not connect to the Heat Link, correct?

I would like to gather some details and check some things on my end here. Would it be ok if I reach out to you over the email associated with your account here?

Thanks for trying to assist @CoolingWizard , always appreciated.

I am sorry @Chiptivo , I did not realize that you were in England. Sadly I have no experience with the Nest when using HeatLink.   Perhaps a fellow European product expert can chime in. It has been my reading experience that the Nest Thermostats designed to attach to the HeatLink are unique models.  And General Nest Learning Thermostat Generation 3 I do not believe are compatible.
