According to the google website, there is an update that was released in January for the latest version software for the Google Nest thermostat. Mine won't update. Googles own website says it may take a few weeks for it to automatically update. Well, its been few months. So I made the huge mistake of contacting customer service. Nothing but talking in circles, couldn't answer actually why is wasn't updating---just that 'it needs to be connected to Wifi.'--which it is of course. Then she said, 'there will be differences from thermostat to thermostat". What? Its a google nest thermostat---they don't all update to the same version if a new version is released? It was awful.
I've tried resetting, hard restart twice and nothing. Still says its updated which its clearly not. This is the first Google product I purchased and this will be the last google home product I purchase.

I have had the same problem. I can't get the Nest thermostat to connect to my app for very long and when I checked the software version, I'm at 1.1-9 I know there is a new version 1.1-11 from January. My thermostat will not update either. It seems to think it has the newest version. I have tried every step to fix this thermostat from restarting to resetting to static IP address to opening ports on my router, etc. Nothing works. I have had this thermostat for about 4 days and it has never worked correctly with the app. It connects to the server for a few hours and then disconnects. I have to restart the thermostat at least 4 times a day. I am very frustrated. Anyone have any advice?

Hi all,
Thanks for being here in the Google Nest Community Forum.
The updates for Google Nest Thermostat's availability may differ. Once the update is available for your thermostat to download, it will install it automatically.
Also, the connection of your thermostat to your Wi-Fi could possibly be disrupted for a couple of reasons. The security of the Wi-Fi router, the distance from it and the wireless interference that might affect your thermostat's connectivity to your internet.
Regards,
Ryan
