Google Nest thermostat

Probably the worst return / replacement process we have ever had to deal with. We purchased our Nest under a year ago and I have realized it has been glitching since day one. The thermostat shuts down on its own. We have now tried to return/ replace it on several occasions and they keep sending us duds. I have lost faith in google products and their return/ replacement policies. This is our last resort. Let’s see what happens from here.

Google please help.

It’s extremely unfair how much time we have had to spend trying to resolve this matter.

Why did you go via Google for a faulty thermostat within 12 months, why not the retailer/installer etc.?

Apparently you have to go through google. FYI, they only replace with refurbished products. Not sure what year they think this is.

I’m fully aware how their system works, I question why you had to go through Google?

Unless you purchased the unit direct through Google, why would you ask them to replace?

The question again is where did you purchase, retailer/installer? Not the name of the company or shop, but which?  Another question who said you have to go via Google, if you didn’t purchase the thermostat from Google?

These questions could make a difference.

You’re wasting my time as much as google is. Take care.

By saying things like that really helps you!

My point being, anyone with the slightest common sense would return a faulty item back to the retailer, or if installed by a tradesman you would get them to repair.

Sadly your choice to get Google involved gets you into the position you are now! Granted there is a 2 year Google warranty, but why waste your time with them when the retailer/installer are the first port of call?

You obviously know better!

You must have nothing better to do with your time. Sad.

Do you not think I already went that route. Thus that is why I am dealing with google now. Move on.

I suppose that’s a typical reply. Your first reply here answers the question, that you are unaware of your purchase rights.

The route you should have gone down is with the retailer/installer, if they have not replaced/repaired the item, then you clearly don’t know your consumer rights.
