Yellow Wire goes to Y1
Black Wire goes to C
Red Wire goes to Rc
Green Wire goes to G
Orange wire goes to O/B*
White wire goes to W2/AUX
When comes the testing your system at the end of the installation, run the Heating test. See if your get Heat. Then you must wait 5 minutes minimum before testing the cooling. Now if your Heat test blows cool air, then the reversing valve (the O/B) mode needs to be changed. The O model heat pumps are heaters by default and you have to energize the reversing valve (OB wire) in order to get cooling. Conversely, B model heat pumps are air conditioners by default, and you must energize the reversing valve (OB ) to get heating.
I hope this helps,

With Heat Pumps, the preferred location of the Power-input is Rc. Make sure your wires are stripped back enough to get fully inserted into the Nest baseplate. With heat pumps keep in mind that they come in two flavors so to speak. They are called O models or B models. O models are heat models and the OB wire gets energized to get Cooling. On B models it is the opposite. They are cooling and must Energize the OB wire to get heat.
I hope this information helps.

CoolingWizard,
What are your wiring recommendations for nest 3rd generation thermostat based on the cables above, the system uses a heat pump on? I have included a screenshot of what I think would be my setup but I'm not a 100% certain.
